Is a Liquid Facelift Right for You?

Is a Liquid Facelift Right for You?

A facelift delivers unmatched, intensive anti-aging results. However, a viable alternative option is what’s often called a “liquid facelift.” This refers to a facelift done entirely with injectable fillers. This type of non-surgical facelift works by volumizing the face, helping to fill it out and stretch out any wrinkles.

Benefits of liquid facelift

A liquid facelift is good for those who don’t want to undergo an entire surgical procedure yet still want results similar to what a facelift would provide. A facelift is also much less expensive than a surgical facelift. You can also “preview” the results you might get with a facelift. There is no need for general anesthesia, and the procedure is much shorter. Finally, results with a liquid facelift are immediately visible with no downtime, as opposed to a facelift which requires time to heal.

Drawbacks of liquid facelift

It’s important to note that a liquid facelift will not provide the same results that surgery can. It’s also necessary to go back for more fillers to maintain results every few months (how often will depend on which fillers are used and certain lifestyle factors — your health care provider will let you know exactly how often you need to come in to keep up results). Fillers alone may not be able to give you the results you’re after, so your doctor may need to add in other methods of facial rejuvenation such as botox, Profound RF, or others.

Your doctor will perform a visual examination of your face, observing any areas of concern, and will listen to what type of improvements you’re looking for. They will come up with a treatment plan likely involving several types of filler based on the degree of aging signs and area needing help (different areas of concern will need thicker or thinner filler, for example, or may see better improvement with Botox).

Some swelling and redness may show up afterwards, but in general, these symptoms are mild and should dissipate in the next few days.
