The Non-surgical Rhinoplasty | Everything You Need to Know

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

If you aren’t quite happy with the shape of your nose, yet are worried at the idea of undergoing surgery to change the shape of it. A non-surgical rhinoplasty may be just the thing you’re looking for. In this blog we’ll go over everything you need to know about getting a non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure.

  • Can I fix the tip of my nose without surgery?
  • How can I lift the tip of my nose naturally?
  • What shape of nose is most attractive?

Why Get a Non-surgical Rhinoplasty?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty gives you the opportunity to get the nose you want without undergoing surgery. It is a great option for those who may want to “try out” their new look before committing to surgery. The procedure is much quicker and does not require any down time. Side effects are much less likely and those that do occur are mild. Lastly, the price is much lower than getting a rhinoplasty done.

What are the Limitations of a Non-surgical Rhinoplasty?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty will not have the same drastic results that you can get from a surgical rhinoplasty. Your doctor will be limited to minor changes in contour and volume. Your nose cannot be made smaller, although strategic injection places may be able to create the illusion of a smaller nose. Also, you will need to come back within a year to redo the fillers used in order to keep your nose looking the way you want it to.

Procedure

Your doctor will go over with you the look you’re going for. If you’re an ideal candidate for a non-surgical rhinoplasty (hyaluronic acid fillers), on the day of your procedure you will have a series of fillers injected into the appropriate places. On and around your nose in order to give volume, give a shapely contour, correct the tip, or whatever the case may be.

This is an outpatient procedure. Many fillers contain a numbing agent so often topical anesthesia is not needed. The procedure takes about 20-30 minutes depending on the amount of work needed.

Recovery and Possible Side Effects

Recovery is similar to recovery after any filler procedure. Side effects are also similar and are usually mild—although devastating complications such as skin necrosis and blindness rarely may occur. Some redness and minimal swelling may occur around the nose but will dissipate within several days. Your doctor will let you know what side effects to expect based on the particular fillers used.
