Fractional laser treatments turn back the clock on aging skin and give patients natural, youthful-looking skin. DeepFX is one of these laser treatments that penetrates into the skin, removing damaged top layers and stimulated collagen production. DeepFX is an effective treatment for deep wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and acne scarring.
Is DeepFX for Me?
Fractional lasers work by shooting short pulses of light into the skin. The depth of the light depends on the type of laser. DeepFX is effective for deep-set lines and wrinkles, scars, and severe hyperpigmentation while the ActiveFX laser, for example, is effective for treating more shallow and superficial skin issues. ActiveFX and DeepFX can be combined into one treatment called TotalFX, which can treat both deep and superficial skin problems.
DeepFX is a good option for those who are looking to treat deeper skin issues as the laser penetrates more deeply. Those with deep acne scarring, deep lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin tones can expect to see an improvement in their skin’s texture including smoother skin and a softening of scars and wrinkles. DeepFX can be used to treat skin problems on the:
· Face
· Neck
· Upper chest
· Arms
· Hands
Unlike ActiveFX, DeepFX can be used on darker skin tones. DeepFX is not a good option for you if you have taken Accutane in the past year or have medical conditions such as a history of keloid formations or do not heal well from wounds.
After DeepFX
After a DeepFX treatment, skin will be red and inflamed like sunburn. You might also notice small amounts of bleeding. It is recommended to avoid the sun for four weeks after the treatment, but your face should heal within four or five days. Broad-spectrum sunscreen should always be worn when going outside, but it is especially important in the weeks and months after a DeepFX treatment.
Over the next few days following a DeepFX treatment, the skin in the treatment area will flake off as it heals. Wrinkles might reappear after the initial swelling subsides, but these will improve dramatically as new collagen is produced. Wrinkles and scars that are deeper will also improve over the next months as collagen production amps up.
Although some patients might require more than one DeepFX treatment, results last for many years. DeepFX works deep within the dermis to promote new collagen production over time, and our healthy, undamaged skin remains healthy. DeepFX is a good treatment option for deep wrinkles, scarring, or hyperpigmentation on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands, and provides lasting results and smoother, younger-looking skin.
