Daxxify is the newest addition to the neurotoxin-based line of muscle relaxers, which includes products like Botox and Xeomin. What makes Daxxify stand out from the rest, however, is its longer-lasting effects. Daxxify recently got FDA approval and is available at some doctor’s offices, including ours.
What Is Daxxify? How Does It Work?
Daxxify is a botulinum toxin-based injectable product, a neuromodulator. Daxxify works like Botox in that it helps soften or eliminate the look of existing wrinkles and helps prevent new static wrinkles from forming. It does this by immobilizing the muscles in the injected area. Dynamic wrinkles (those that show up with movement) don’t show up because there is no movement in the injected area. And static wrinkles, which occur from repeated movement and show even at rest, \ either don’t show up or don’t get worse.
How Long Does Daxxify Last?
Other botulinum toxin-based injectables last about three months. Daxxify lasts, on average, up to six months. Studies have shown that 80% of people who received Daxxify maintained their results for four months after treatment, while 50% still maintained results for six months.
How Is Daxxify Able to Last Longer?
Daxxify uses the same core ingredient that Botox does, so what makes it last longer? Daxxify includes the addition of peptides. These peptides allow for a better interaction between botulinum toxin and the nerve cells which are responsible for muscle movements.
What Is Daxxify Used For?
Daxxify can treat the same areas that Botox can treat. Currently, it’s technically only approved for eleven lines (the vertical lines between the eyes) but is used off-label for other cosmetic treatments including forehead lines, frown lines, marionette lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines on the nose, and more.
