Is ClariFix Right for Me?

ClariFix in office

ClariFix is a procedure that can stop chronic rhinitis. Through the use of cryotherapy, it freezes nerves within the nose in order to stop chronic runny nose and the accompanying problems that come with it. ClariFix is a safe procedure and is minimally invasive, done in-office, and requires no downtime.

What Conditions Can ClariFix Treat?

ClariFix is primarily used to help treat a condition called chronic rhinitis. It can be either allergic rhinitis or nonallergic rhinitis. It’s caused by nerves that are out of balance, creating a runny nose and many other issues. You may have rhinitis if you experience the following symptoms:

  • Runny nose
  • Post-nasal drip
  • Congestion (especially first thing in the morning)
  • Hoarseness
  • Irritation of the throat (due to post-nasal drip)

For rhinitis to be considered chronic, it needs to have occurred for at least 12 weeks. Rhinitis is most often caused by allergies; however, it can also be due to other factors such as irritants in the air, pregnancy, smoking, certain medications, or chronic sinusitis.

Is ClariFix Permanent?

Many patients wonder if ClariFix will be a permanent solution to their problem. The answer is that ClariFix lasts about a year. Patient satisfaction studies have shown that patients still experienced symptom relief a year after treatment. At some point after this time, however, a follow-up treatment may be necessary. If you find your symptoms coming back after having ClariFix done, contact our office to schedule another procedure.

How We Determine If ClariFix Is Right for You

We will ask about the symptoms you have been experiencing and how long they have been going on. Dr. Fisher will perform an examination of your nose as well.

If you are considering ClariFix, you can take this assessment quiz on the ClariFix website. It’s a simple quiz that should take just a few minutes of your time, and after you’re done, you can print the results and bring them in to your appointment.

When Will I See Improvement after Getting ClariFix?

Patients typically see improvement within a few weeks of their procedure. As with many procedures involving the nose, you may experience a temporary increase in congestion at first.

If you have chronic rhinitis and wonder if ClariFix can help you, schedule an appointment with our office, and Dr. Fisher will help determine whether ClariFix is the right procedure for you.
